Pacesetter Basketball was founded in 1980 to bring high-quality camps to young people in outlying areas. Starting with eight camps in1980, Pacesetter has expanded to provide over 90 commuter and residential camps each summer in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin and also provides a four-state youth basketball playoff system for grades 4-9 involving over 800 teams with the “Great State” championships played at the Target Center in Minneapolis through cooperation with the Minnesota Lynx and Minnesota Timberwolves. Pacesetter also provides an exposure camp for top varsity players and two of the premier varsity basketball tournaments in Minnesota each summer, the Varsity MIT and the Pacesetter “Sweet 16” Championships.
