St. Joseph, Missouri is the county seat of Buchanan County as well as the principal city of a metropolitan area which extends into Andrew and DeKalb Counties in Missouri and Doniphan County in Kansas. With more than 125,000 living in this metro area, services are abundant with St. Joe maintaining quality schools and safe neighborhoods. Lots of history will also be found in St. Joe, which was the starting point of the Pony Express in addition to being where the infamous Jesse James met his demise.
